The DESPERTANDO HISTORIA project developed by the Office of Digital Transformation of the Seville Provincial Council in collaboration with the municipalities of Camas, Castilleja de Guzmán, Santiponce and Valencina de la Concepción, aims to promote and boost tourism in the area through the enhancement of its heritage, allowing future visitors to discover the great historical wealth of the Aljarafe, with archaeological sites, monuments and other cultural assets covering periods as diverse as the Chalcolithic, the Bronze Age, Phoenician, Tartessian or Roman culture, or historical buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Tourists can navigate on the 3D map through the geopositioned historical enclaves of each municipality, being able to visualise the current state of a cultural asset, recreate its original state and even discover its historical evolution. For this purpose, different digitalisation techniques, 3D modelling, web visualisation and virtual visits have been used, which provide the visitor with a more direct and immersive experience of the heritage.
In addition, in those enclaves where it is possible due to their location and/or accessibility conditions, tourists can view the recreations and 3D reconstructions in situ, using geolocated augmented reality.
This action is carried out within the framework of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy, EDUSI AUF Camas "Awakening History", 80% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund FEDER, through the Pluri-regional Operational Programme of Spain 2014-2020.
